Explore the jaw-dropping landscapes, invest in a routine and experience the tight nit surf communities that Australia, New Zealand and Canada have to offer.

Season

The warmer months of attract the crowds and ultimately the majority of the opportunities in the industry. With the influx of holiday goers and travellers, these months see businness boom. 

Australia :  October - May 

New Zealand: October - May 

Canada: May - September 

That being said, the surf industry during the colder months may take a bit of a dip, the winter months bring more consistent waves and less crowds.

The Surf

Technically speaking the best surf in these locations are during the colder months where more frequent light offshore winds grace the coastlines alongside  strong ocean storm systems. Tofino, the surfing hub of Canada, experiences very cold conditions in the winter months and acts as a great crowd cutter. The New Zealand surf scene has been slowly building, boasting rugged coastlines, empty lineups and consistent swell. Austrlalia is proud to have one of, if not the most, prolific surf scene in the world with such a large coastline, you can find all types of breaks that get swell all year round.

Apart from boasting some of the most beautiful, diverse and pristine coastlines on the planet, these destinations offer the perfect blend of career development, opportunity, vibrant social scenes and world class waves. Purpose driven work, with a twist. Join a community that lives and breathes the ocean, early morning wake ups and the outdoors. Opportunities

The East Coast of Australia, Raglan (New Zealand) and Tofino (Canada) are home to a selection of tight nit surfing communities. Here you will have the opportunity to learn and work along side skilled individuals who have dedicated their lives to the ocean. Common roles include surf coaching and guiding, camp management, social media, tours and conservation. Volunteer positions are available but a huge drawing point for these countries is the ability to make a substantial living in the industry. Hard work is rewarded, the experience is unmathced and the opportunities are endless. Once you have made it here, you have proven yourself in the industry.

Reality

The Pathway offers many of the elements people seek when combining work, travel and surfing. Like any meaningful journey, it requires initiative and the right connections to unlock its full potential.
